We are proud to be introducing the first annual Feline Community Network Princess Jasmine Diamond Award!
This award is based on the spirit of community, saving lives and working together tirelessly to promote the well-being and humane treatment of animals in Lake and Porter County.
As many of our followers may know, the Feline Community Network was born out of need to help cats and people in dire situations. We then evolved into saving cats facing avoidable euthanasia – due to age, illness or overcrowding in the shelters and local animal control. Feline Community Network expanded our outreach program shortly after to include felines who suffered from neglect or abuse and became a rescue and rehabilitation center.
We give hope to beautiful creatures where there was little to none. By us partnering with other rescues and our surrounding communities within Lake and Porter County – together all of us make a difference every day.
It is in this spirit the Princess Jasmine Diamond Award was created. Our own ambassador Jasmine was scheduled to be euthanized as a kitten simply because there wasn’t enough space to hold her any longer. Jasmine is one of the many healthy but unwanted cats that faced an early death simply because over population – of cats in general and in awaiting adoptions from shelter, rescues, etc. Jasmine has turned out to be the Princess of Feline Community Network and the official greeter.
This award is all about giving attention to those selfless people who continuously go into action to help a cat, dog or any animal in harm’s way and give them a chance at a beautiful life – which they so deserve. We want to recognize this individual, rescue organization or animal shelter in Lake or Porter County, Indiana.
We are seeking nominations for the Princess Jasmine Diamond Award, which will be presented to the winners on Saturday, November 10, 2018 during our 7th Annual Spay-ghetti Gala. Our belief is by recognizing role models, others will aspire to become animal philanthropists and ambassadors as well.
The award will be presented to the winner for not only the numerous contributions of the individual, group, or shelter but also the drive, spirit and dedication they have shown in providing exemplary service and commitment to animal welfare.
